Dentistry without Drills! Small cavities can be restored with tooth colored restorations using air abrasion. Instead of a conventional drill, this device aims a stream of tiny particles and air at the area of decay which is removed and suctioned away. Most patients require little or no anesthesia at all, and the sound and vibrations of the drill are gone. The procedure is very conservative leaving more of the healthy tooth intact. Air abrasion is not appropriate for all situations, so ask if it can be used for you!
